Heather Hart: Practice Oracle

July - August 2015Heather Hart: Practice Oracleon view July 10th - August 29th, 2015Opening Reception First Friday, July 10th and August 7th, 6-10pmeIMG_2122Heather Hart and PRACTICE invite you to reconnect with your deepest wishes and transform your desire into a collective gold drawing. Hart’s PRACTICE Oracle invites participants into a shelter reminiscent of outdoor structures she built as a child. This human-sized, fort-like, shrine becomes the arena of a participatory drawing completed by visitors pressing gold onto its surface in exchange for their wish. As the density of the golden surface builds over time it becomes and remains a visual witness, luminously reflecting each visitor’s hopes. Over the course of the installation viewers are welcome to use the space to relax, self-reflect or visit with others.
